Dips anyone? I know dips and other snack type foods are always welcome around any gathering. This Grilled Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Dip is easy to make and uber-flavorful because I used my Garlic Parmesan Flavor Dust. You can easily cook this in the oven, but I like to cook it in my smoker for added flavor. It’s a perfect “ride-along” item. When I’m cooking something else on the grill, I put this in so that it will come out ready to serve as an appetizer while I’m finishing up the meal.
Simple and Delicious Cheesy Shrimp Appetizer
This dip uses already cooked shrimp, so it’s easy to prep. The hardest thing is remembering to set out some cream cheese to get to room temperature! The main flavor is my new Garlic Parmesan Flavor Dust, so you don’t even need to grab a bunch of seasonings. I also use my Woo Woo Sauce, but you can use regular Worcestershire in a pinch (though it won’t be as zesty.)
For shrimp, I used 8 oz of “salad shrimp,” those tiny already cooked shrimp you can get in the freezer section at the grocery. I also used 8 oz of medium, wild-caught gulf shrimp for a more flavorful dip. You can either buy these cooked or cook them yourself.
Because everything is better when it’s cheesy, I use some parmesan for umami, cheddar for traditional flavor, and mozzarella for ooey-gooey cheesiness. So good.
Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Dip on the Grill
This recipe makes enough for a 2 quart dish. I like cooking it in a ceramic dish, but you can use a a smaller cast iron pan as well. At 350 degrees, this will need to cook about 30-35 minutes, or until it’s bubbly and browned on top. When I’m riding it along with ribs for example, I cook around 275 degrees. In that case, I usually cook this for about an hour.
When I cook it on a grill, I usually wrap the dish in foil in order to keep the grill and smoke stains from the dish (they would wash right off, but it looks better when you serve it without the marks.)
Serve this with crackers, toasted French bread rounds, or a variety. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and heated in the microwave, but aren’t good frozen.
As always, I hope you enjoy!
